Mark is the founder of Apogee Dayton and Director our our young men's studio. With advanced degrees in engineering and experience as a university-level instructor, Mark possesses the knowledge and expertise to provide a strong academic foundation. His time in the Marine Corps instilled in him values of discipline and self-mastery. These qualities, combined with his dedication to values-driven education, make Mark the ideal person to guide character formation and inspire intellectual pursuits.

Mark served on active duty in the Marine Corps for five years. As a non-commissioned officer, Mark was responsible for the training and welfare his fellow Marines and Sailors. This experience taught him that true freedom is not about doing whatever one wants, but rather it involves self-discipline and self-mastery. After deploying twice, Mark decided to leave the military to pursue graduate school.

Mark holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Dayton. He obtained master's and doctoral degrees in engineering from The Ohio State University. During his time as a research fellow, Mark focused on developing methods to predict the performance of treatment wetlands. Additionally, he gained teaching experience by instructing various undergraduate courses within the College of Engineering.

After completing graduate school, Mark joined a Department of Defense lab where he worked for nearly ten years as a hydrologist. During his time there, he led various research and development efforts and provided engineering support for contingency operations, humanitarian assistance, and disaster response missions. As the author of numerous scientific papers, his research is internationally recognized. His work is even cited in presidential briefings and by the National Security Council.

Driven by a desire to provide his own children with a transformative education, Mark founded Apogee Dayton. His vision goes beyond traditional schooling, aiming to equip students with the skills and mindset needed for a meaningful and fulfilling life. He is committed to assembling a team of accomplished professionals who aim to inspire young people and their families to reach their full potential. Mark's multifaceted background and unwavering passion for values-driven education make him an exceptional leader, dedicated to challenging our young heroes to achieve greatness and make a positive impact in the world.
